Electrician work and electronics work
Two fields can both reward careful problem-solving while asking for different kinds of work.
Mains work is on site and physical. Who may do it, and to what standard, is set by rules that differ from place to place. It can involve buildings, changing conditions, tools, and work away from a bench.
Electronics work is often at a bench and uses fine motor work. There is usually no equivalent gate on who may pick up a soldering iron, and it can be a hobby as well as a profession.
Leaving is not always a verdict on the work
Research on electrical training found that an employer and the quality of training can matter more than the work itself when someone leaves. A past departure does not by itself answer whether the work was the problem.
A screen cannot test the physical side
A page can describe the work, but it cannot show how your body responds to its physical conditions. A real taster is where that part becomes clear.
